The company specialises in providing expert medical advice from doctors who are accredited specialists or who have higher professional training in occupational medicine.

We can provide independent reports for employers and legal reports for solicitors.  We can advise employers, solicitors and individuals on the application of the Equality Act 2010.  We are happy to provide a second opinion or refer you to other occupational health specialists for an opinion. 

Our doctors meet national guidelines for expert and independent assessment in such areas as ill-health retirement for the emergency services and local government, seafarer medicals, and as Approved Doctors for health surveillance. 

Our doctors have experience providing advice to central and local government, the NHS, emergency services, and a variety of local industries including engineering, utilities, transport and in specialist areas such as hand-arm vibration, ionising radiation, lead, offshore work and seafaring.

In 2004 the company was commissioned, in partnership with Optimal Performance Ltd, by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to produce the Medical and Occupational Evidence for Recruitment and Retention in the Fire and Rescue Services

Medical Director

Dr Tony Williams, Medical Director of Working Fit, has fifteen years experience as a consultant occupational physician. A Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, he has been an examiner for the Faculty of Occupational Medicine for nine years, and teaches on the course for the Diploma in Occupational Medicine run annually at the University of Kent in Canterbury.

He was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England steering group that produced guidelines for return to work following surgical procedures. He is also a panel adviser to workplacelaw.net.

He completed his LLM in Law and Employment Relations in 2007 and has published research on the evidence provided by doctors for employment tribunals.

SEQOHS Accreditation

Working Fit is one of the first Occupational Health organisations to complete the Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) accreditation. SEQOHS is a scheme run by the Royal College of Physicians to ensure that accredited OH Services maintain the standards set by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.
