We can only inform your employer about your medical condition if you consent.   With your consent we only give relevant medical details to enable your employer to understand the issues and to be able to make any necessary adjustments to your work or workplace.  This is often very helpful to both you and your employer.  If we feel that your employer should know any medical details we will explain this to you and give you the opportunity to refuse to allow this information to be passed on if you wish.

There are some conditions where we will have to give some information to your manager so he can make any necessary adjustments on safety grounds. For example if you have epilepsy or are taking insulin for diabetes, or have a severe allergy, there can be important safety issues. If you do not want your employer to know these facts, there are circumstances where it would be unsafe for your employer to place you in certain roles.
