Yes.  The Data Protection Act 1998 applies to all our records and reports.  You are entitled to copies of all the records we keep.  You are also entitled to copies of  reports to your employer.  We will also always discuss the content of the report with you, and where possible we will write the report at the end of the consultation so you can see it before it is sent.

In some cases where we need additional information it will not be possible to show you the full report.  In these circumstances we will discuss the likely content and agree any medical details you are happy for us to include. 

The Access to Medical Reports Act 1988 does not usually apply to occupational health reports, but it does apply to reports from your GP or specialist.  You have additional rights to refuse to allow us to request reports, to see the report before it is sent to us, and to register disagreement with aspects of the report if you wish.  If we need a report from your GP or specialist we will ask you to sign a specific consent form and will explain your rights to you.
